About UAIA

The Uganda Association of Impacts Assessment (UAIA) is an umbrella Association that  brings together Environmental practitioners involved in Environment Impact Assessment (EIA)  as well as individuals and organizations with an interest in advancing or upholding environmental management issues or values as part of sustainable development.

The Association responds to the realization that there is a need to improve sustainable environmental management through adequate and ethical commitment to professional understanding and sharing of skills and experiences among ESA practitioners and members of the allied disciplines.

The Association is affiliated to the International Association of Impact Assessment (IAIA) and works with partners drawn from government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA), Civil Society Organizations (CSO), Academia and similar professional associations outside the country.

The UAIA is regulated under National Environment(Environment and Social Assesment) Regulation 2020 (S.1 2020 No 143) by National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).
